NYC Visual Storytelling with Salomon Ligthelm

Role: Production Manager

Impact: Having admired director Salomon Ligthelm's visual storytelling for years, I eagerly joined this music video production when approached. My production philosophy guided my approach: "Once I commit, I'm all-in until completion."

Salomon requested very specific location aesthetics throughout the New York City metropolitan area, each needing particular visual characteristics and backdrops. This initiated countless hours of research—first meticulously combing Google Maps to identify potential locations, then physically scouting each promising area, capturing reference photos and exploring surroundings to find that perfect visual match. This meant braving the cold for extended periods, traversing various NYC neighborhoods with a producer's determined eye for what would elevate the project.

My dedication to this intensive location scouting process directly contributed to the video's distinctive visual identity. Rather than settling for obvious or convenient locations, I uncovered unique settings that perfectly complemented the director's artistic vision while remaining within our production constraints. This behind-the-scenes work illustrates how thorough pre-production efforts translate into visually striking final content.
